A silent sound embarks on a journey from mouth to ear, or rather mind to mind,
eye to eye, small as a word, yet large as a multi-volume encyclopedia.
The grain of information, which conducts the power of imagination, passes
between two lost individuals, letting each know that there is another who
understands.
Then, as soon as the glance passes, each turns away and goes about their
life, once again as alone as an island in the sea.
But in having shared that glance, they share a common bond, a line which
connects them, no matter how far they float apart.
A single word, a thought, not even spoken, yet known by both as a whole
story, a common story.
It is the story of having loved and lost, having had something they cared
for taken from them. Of being
separated from everything, everyone else. And
that bond allows them the comfort of knowing that they are not alone.
